When it comes to marketing video content, more is always better. More videos, more features, more ways to purchase – the more deluxe you can make your products appear from the get-go, the more people will want to buy them. That’s why at Cinevee, we offer our partners more options from the start – to make your storefront as enticing as possible.
With Cinevee, you can bundle products to make seasons and episodes, which appeals to one-time viewers and binge culture alike. We also create high quality downloadable files with every media encode, which entices your customers to Own, rather than Rent, your titles. On top of that, all products powered by Cinevee support offering bonus content – downloadable files such as video and audio files, images, eBooks, PDFs, and almost any other form of digital file.
Why bother with all this? The evidence shows that the more deluxe your presentation is, the higher your margins will be and the more you’ll sell. You do want to sell more, right? Of course you do.
You only get one chance to make a first impression. Make sure your audience gets the most out of visiting your site by appealing to their deluxe nature from the start.
It’s been a tremendous start to 2015. I’ve been traveling with Cinevee, a cutting edge digital content distribution company based in Michigan. I’ve been crisscrossing the country from LA to New York to Michigan and back again.
Prior to boarding a flight from LAX to JFK, I knew I was going to need one thing: coffee. So I found myself in line and face to face with the Starbucks’ signage for the launch of their new drink: the Flat White. Let me state for the record that I’m a latte snob because my local coffee shop masterfully and consistently delivers a latte at the perfect temperature every time. So here I am at LAX deciding to give the Flat White a try.
To my great surprise and great pleasure, the Flat White is perfect and it’s at the perfect temperature just like at my local coffee shop. The next morning I’m in Manhattan and I don’t know if you’ve noticed lately, but there’s a Starbucks on nearly every block in Manhattan. No complaints here. Heck, I remember the first one opening there in 1993. Oddly enough, I was standing in line with Gary Oldman at the time but that’s another story.
So here I am in Manhattan stepping through the freezing temperatures and I order another Flat White. Delicious again. And the perfect temperature again. I probably have ten more flat whites over the next two weeks from LAX to all over Manhattan and in Holland, Michigan and finally back to LA. And you know what? It was perfect every time. Perfect temperature. Every time. I have to say I am really marveling at this coast to coast feat of responsive design and delivery on the part of Starbucks.
At Cinevee, our websites and video players are responsive as well. They are built to adapt to every popular viewing environment: smartphones, tablets and personal computers. Built on Cinevee, our clients enjoy an interface that rearranges from one device to another for optimal quality and speed with their content. Cinevee delivers too. In a responsive way. Every time.
It’s awesome when you can admire a giant company like Starbucks and what they accomplish in the world. And it’s just as awesome to sip a Flat White in an airport and know that I’m off to meet a client to service them with our responsive technology for mobile delivery. At the end of the day, you can’t put a price on that feeling.
For an online distributor, pre- and post-roll ads are kind of like that proverbial dangling carrot – not hanging directly in front of you, but just sort of bobbing annoyingly in your peripheral. It’s not the goal you’re actually chasing, but it’s a tantalizing enough orange vegetable that it sure would be nice to make some money off of it while selling your film. Unfortunately, if you’re a smaller distributor with less than 2M+ video impressions a month, you’ve no doubt discovered that video ad platforms tend to be a bit out of your reach. Continue reading
According to Fred and Carrie, if you want people to buy your product, you put a bird on it. Spruce it up. Make it pretty. What a sad little tote bag. You should put a bird on it.
We think maximizing the use of your brand might be the better option.
Would you rather:
1) pluck your own eyelashes with chopsticks OR 2) have to update your content items individually for each device and application, over and over and over?
Personally, we’d go for the eyelashes.
Building on an already mobile-friendly web presence powered by Cinevee, AngelHouse Media has just released iOS and Android apps to deliver Watch ‘n Talk, a three volume series of video-based curriculum, directly to consumers. The Watch ‘n Talk apps leverage Cinevee’s powerful API feature, which feeds up-to-date data regarding media, product info, account information, and purchases – all synced seamlessly across their landscape of digital distribution outlets. This means that instead of editing the same product info over and over for each branded website and device, they can quickly update everything in one place and see it pushed instantly to consumers on an entire lineup of branded outlets.
A professor gave a test to her econ class. She grouped the students into teams, gave each team $5, and informed them that they had one week to multiply it as much as possible. The group with the most profit at the end of the week would win.
So, what could you do with $5?
- convert it to $0.01302 Bitcoins
- buy knitting needles and sell your creations online
- put it in your savings account and see how much of that .10% interest you can accrue by Friday
- buy lemons and convince your little brother to sell lemonade for you
- quit school and buy a Frappuccino
- upload a film to Cinevee and start selling it immediately. Now, there’s an idea…
You don’t need a week to make money with Cinevee. You don’t even need an hour. Heck, you don’t even need that $5.
Sometimes the cutting-edge video streaming isn’t enough. Sometimes you need more than a trailer. More than a film. You want a downloadable file.
Any Kind of File
Fret not! In addition to the automatic downloads that Cinevee creates, you can now add any downloadable file to your film for a small fee. This can be anything – a PDF, an esoteric video format, music, whatever – anything that relates to your film. Add as many downloadable files as you need for each film. Keep in mind that Cinevee charges a small fee for film admins to add downloadable files, due to the storage and bandwidth costs. Continue reading
Here at Cinevee, we’ve been hard at work adding support for closed captions and subtitles to our streaming video. Here’s what you need to know.
Captions vs Subtitles
Closed Captions and Subtitles are similar from a technology point of view. Both require displaying text over the top of a video, timed to match the video content. A typical subtitle or caption element has a beginning time, an ending time, and the information that should be displayed during that time.
Although the technology is similar, captions and subtitles are intended for different audiences. Closed Captions help people who can not hear the audio for a video. Closed Captions usually have extra descriptions in the text for actions or music in addition to dialog. Subtitles, on the other hand, are meant to translate content into different languages. We’re happy to announce you can now embed your film trailers in other sites using Cinevee. This will let you easily direct traffic to Cinevee and lead to more sales. Here’s how it works.
How is Cinevee video delivered? The story starts with a filmmaker uploading video to the Cinevee website. Hopefully the resumable upload process helps that along. Then the video is encoded into several formats for delivery – from small low-bandwidth files to beautiful high-quality HD video. The video is backed up several hundred times at datacenters around the world.
